Cute and Easy Skating Dress

Round Rock, Texa...

Very simple and easy-to-serge skating dresses that can be whipped up in a day.

My daughter loves flowers and uses them for lesson days. Nothing fancy, just fun.

Material Notes

I drafted my own leotard, panty, and skirt for these, and then just changed up the sleeves and the front and back necklines to make them all a bit different.

But you could use any skating pattern that you have lying around the house, and then do the same to suit your own style…or your skaters style. Add some free-form appliqus and some AB crystals and there you have it.

I made all three in a day because the appliqu was free-form and the dress is slip on, no zips to bother with.

All seams were sewn with a 3 thread OL narrow,.
Neck bands and sleeve bands were finished with a narrow Cover Stitch.
I used a 3 Thread Rolled Stitch for the lettuce edge skirt.
The appliqu was simply cut out with a rotary blade and adhered to the bodice with Wonder Under first before finishing with a quilting stitch, using invisible nylon thread.

These skating outfits are really cute.I like how you made the cutouts and the different closure at neckline to change the look. How fun they are…
