Drafted from Pattern Magic 3, by Tomoko Nakamichi.
I love the way that when you are wearing it, from the front it just looks like you are wearing a rather ordinary cropped little Tshirt, with maybe just the stripe as its lone interesting feature. However as one turns around, it transpires one is wearing an elegant little draped cape, with a flattering, widely scooped back neckline.
When the garment is laid flat you can see at once the inspiration for its name.

The shorts I am wearing are made using Burda 7723, of white linen

Material Notes

two different colours of cotton jersey

Wonderful top. I am so surprised it looks so good on….as in, there is not much to it yet it works.

thanks! yup, I was surprised at how interesting it looks when it is on, too, because the design is so very simple.

I like it. I’d really like to make a shirt like that. I’ve been wanting the pattern Magic books for a while. I’m waiting until I get back to the states to buy them. It’s v ery pretty.
