Description

My first Burda pattern ever purchased ! Although I didn’t like the style of the skirt, and the bust was a little short for me. So I added 4cm and a built-in belt, and changed the skirt to make it fuller and longer. The vintage lover in me spoke !

Material Notes

I used linen originally designed as furniture fabric, so it is a bit stiff and tends to wrinkles, but nothing a good ironing can’t change. The lining is made of white cotton, and horribly wrongly attached to the dress, I must say.

I like this dress on you. i also like the idea of furnishing fabrics for clothing . i once made a suit out of upholstery linen and wore it to the races. Must get it photographed one day.

Thank you ! Yes, furnishing fabrics can be fun to use (if you choose one that can be washed, that is…). One day I’ll make a toile de jouy dress (Dita Von Teese inspired mee) if I find the perfect fabric.
