Description

I made this dress exactly as is (except I didn’t get time to make the belt) from a loose weave suiting.

It turned out fabulous and I am so proud of it. I had a fair amount of trouble with the neck band. Mainly because of the loose weave I was unable to unpick my mistakes and it would leave holes in my fabric. So this was a first time will have to do dress! I wore my hair out anyway to hide the slightly crooked neckline ;-)

I also had a little issue with the arm holes stretching out as I sewed so I had to do a shonky dart in the side seam as I couldn’t remove the facing to fix it properly. Lesson learnt. Use stay stitching!

I also paired it with a silk jacket I made from a Style Arc knit cardigan pattern.

Lovely dress, it looks terrific and the jacket is gorgeous too. You don’t have to point out the faults, you know, they don’t show and you look great. I’m trying to get out of the habit myself, I think it’s something a lot of us do ;-)
