Colourblock T-Shirt Reincarnation Dress

Added Feb 26, 2012

I made this dress from Burda 02 2012 dress 117 pattern. Once more I was challenged to turn a huge t-shirt into a dress because I like the motif and it only came in men sizes.
(Motif by Herr von Bias )
I had to shorten the dress because I’m short in the torso and in the thighs…so I shortened the upper part 3cm (It was kind of hard to find an area where you could shorten the pattern without losing important shape forming parts…) and I took away some centimetres at the hem.
The zipper gave me a moment of frustration…it looked like a roller coaster once sewn in…but some interfacing was the rescue…

Material Notes

jersey, metal zipper, interfacing,

Hi, you made a very nice dress, well done! I’m making the same dress now, and the instructions are not clear for me either. How did you do the edges of the neck and slevees so there’s no visibile stitches? and How did you attach the overlapping neck in the front? I would be really greatfully if you could help me out! :)

I love it! It’s a real challenge, the idea for recycling T-shirts is brilliant (this project is great for that purpose) and the final result is just wonderful! :) Thank you for sharing.
