Description

I have a thing with finishings……..buttons, flowers, hand rolled hems, hand dye silks etc!!! I just think that they finishi a garment in a very luxurious way, that is why, this silk jacket details are: a single chinese button with lovely tails and a hand aplyed silk ribbon on top of all the seams. Lots of work, lots of time, but……the end result is just so rewarding to me. Hope you like it!!

Another thing we have in common, my friend. I often pair shiny trims or finishes with a mat finish fabric. I adore the contrast! And the color in your jacket is stunning. I just keep repeating myself with the word “stunning” when I see your work. As a writer, you’d think I’d have a larger vocabulary!! : ) I’ve created the buttons before and I’ve always thought they were called french knots and the absolutely gorgeous! clasps you created for the button and loop are called “frogs”. I’m always wanting to know the correct terminology for sewing finishes, so I hope you will advise me. I feel you have a much better handle on this type of thing than I do.

Good morning my dear!!! yes!!! we think alike!!! actually…..I am not that good with names and terminologies either, and I think you are right in one part………I though that the knots are chinese knots, and the ornaments are called Frogs as you say. Now, I am curious, and will try for find out the right name. Have a wonderfull week end…..here in my country there is so much tragedy because of the rain…..so many people died burried under the mud because of excess of rain. ….
