China Blue and White Silk Top

Added Mar 28, 2012

This is the 2nd top I have made from Burda #138- 8/2011. The 1st was in cotton and a trial before I cut into the China blue and white silk. This fabric was a total extravaganz and I had to be sure that I was totally happy with version1 before I cut into this gorgeous silk. All seams are French seamed. I interfaced the yoke with a plain off white silk organza to keep it light and give it some body. It weighs nothing, so it feels like wearing a cloud.

Material Notes

Silk by Juulio and bought at Alla Moda fabric boutique in Brisbane.

I wore this last night to a lovely dinner party and felt very special in it. I am always amazed how silk can keep you warm as well. The dinner party was on the veranda of a 38th floor apartment and there was a cool breeze up there and I felt warm.

Thank-you once again merche. This fabric is so lovely and I treated it like gold. Hopefully I will get to wear it a bit more now that our weather is beginning to cool down.
