Fribourg, Switze...

I was curious about this pattern, but unfortunately, I chose a wrong fabric, so it is not at all what I expected it (I learned my lesson!!!)…

anyway, it is easy to make, but I think I won´t find a lot of occasions to wear it ..

so take my advice and think hard about the fabric if you want to sew this dress…

Material Notes

too stiff cotton

I really like this dress! And I think with time, the fabric will settle down. Especially if you are able to wash it. Ironing might be difficult. But I think it looks great just the way it is. I would wear it!

I still like it though! Couldn’t you follow Alison’s hints added in her ‘Bridesmaid Dress’ post, to shape the upper edge of the bodice portion more? Or else tack the folds of the self fabric to the lining around the top, so they lie more flatly? I think the fabric is such fun, it’d be a pity not to wear it!

I made this dress one day before alison´s story!! I was totally frustrated to see that I could have made it better with her version but then it was too late … this can happen, right? ;)

yes, you are right, the fabric is cool, thats why I wanted to use the fabric, but it does not suit for this pattern. (but the whole dress cost me nothing, the fabric was a gift.)
I still have quite a lot left of this fabric and I want to use it again, any suggestions for what to use it?
