Casual Summer Day Outfit

These pieces I made are a part of my “Mash Up Curated Collection” I’m sewing throughout the year. You can read more about it here and how I incorporated this outfit. I’m very proud that these patterns are made out of entirely scraps from other projects! The tank is leftover silk from this dress I made – I had JUST enough to sew this tank. And then the culottes were a test sew of my March Mash Up pattern from since I didn’t have a lot of the printed linen so I wanted to make sure the fit was on point before I cut those. But don’t you just love when a test fit/sew turns out great and a new garment? That’s what happened with these. I used some leftover denim fabric I had from a jumpsuit I made for my Pattern Play column in Sew News Magazine.

This outfit is so comfortable, breezy, and kinda chic! The silhouette of these pants are going to be my go-to for summer 2019, and I think this pattern is my new TNT (tried and true). I talk about not really having one on this episode of Sew & Tell podcast, so I’m super excited to now have one.

For the pants I graded from size 38 in the waist to size 40 in the hip – and the tank I cut and sewed in size 19 as it was a petite pattern.

Material Notes

Denim and printed silk.
