Description

drape cardigan, from october issue of burda magazine (#113)
..
i accidentally stumbled upon this fabric
that looks almost exactly like the fabric burda chose for their cardigan (apart from the color, of course)
and thought i’ll give it a go
and, boy am i glad i did
..
and since burda is always so generous when it comes to amounts of fabrics required
i have at least 1m of the fabric left for another project :)
..
it’s quite simple and straightforward sewing
even with fabric like this one (it frays if you just look at it, i think)
..
i chose to make size 34/36, since my fabric is really stretchy
(i’m normally size 38 with woven fabrics, 36 with stretchy ones)
..
my original plan was to finish the hems with faux leather bias tape
but, since i don’t have teflon foot, my machine wasn’t able to sew the tape
so i ditched the idea
and decided to only double turn and stitch the hems
(instead of finishing them with some wool trim, or something more fancy looking)
..
sloppy hems aside
i really love the cardi
it’s the cosiest thing ever!
..
dress is burda pearl dress (/2013, mod 109)
modified using pattern magic diagram for musubu dress
( i’ve made this dress once before, in gray color )
..

Love the dress and the sweater!! I’m a beginner but when I consider hem finishes I remember Free People brand and they sell overly priced tops and sweaters with unfinished hems all the time then I think well maybe it’s ok if mine isn’t too great.

džemper deluje strašno udobno, a boja i tekstura materijala su fantastični
