Capped sleve, Straight line Graduation Dress

Added Dec 28, 2013

Perth, Australia

I decided to sew my graduation dress out of this beautiful and extremely colourful fabric that I had found at Spotlight. I wanted a plain and simple pattern with no frills or bows, therefore settled on one by New Look, pattern number 6910 (Dress C).

Have a look at the pictures and let me know what you think. I was extremely proud of both my dress and of graduating that day, and think this is one of my best projects yet!

Material Notes

- 2.5 Metres of a silk-type fabric (patterned) – I required the extra length, not for the dress itself but for the use of its pattern blocks

- 22" zipper

- hook and eye

- 1m lining

Garment Type
Evening Wear, Classic

New Look pattern number 6910

Lovely dress, and having looked at this and your other postings today, I’m really jealous of your lovely sunny weather. It’s cold, wet and stormy here. You’ve used the fabric really well and created a stylish, and expensive looking dress. Well done!
