BurdaStyle Handbook Silk Blouse

Austin, Texas, U...

I made the blouse pattern from the BurdaStyle book in a silk chameuse (which I was really proud that I could work with!). The fabric is pretty cool – it’s got this Asian-style hunting motif going on with palm trees and camels and deer. I really like this top with the peplum and the tie waist. I didn’t alter the design at all but when I make it again I might try another version in the book.

I’ve been wanting to make this one for so long, but it intimidates me. Was the pattern easy to work with? Your top is lovely.

the construction is pretty straight forward but i didn’t follow most of the directions. you do have to add all your seam allowances like with most burdastyle patterns. the instructions are a lot more in depth than say, in the magazine. i didn’t have to do any fitting for the pattern.
