Description

I love sheath dresses because they are so easy to wear and style with accessories. I was recently sheyesing (meaning shopping with my eyes) and was inspired by the Rachel Roy “Sydney” dress so I set out to make my own version. The pattern used for this dress is Burdstyle 05/2012 #101B or 101C with the following alterations:

-Added a rounded hem line to front pieces of dress.
-Cut back panel on fabric fold to create one piece instead of two.
-Added a double V hemline to back of dress.
-Serge stitched the sleeve and hem edges with exact matching thread and left exposed for a little drama.

Note: you can always adjust the final length of the dress to suit your taste; I wasn’t a fan of the how short the front of the RR dress was so I opted to make my front a little longer.
