Brisbane, Australia

Faux wrap dress made in a silky jersey knit. This dress was quite easy to sew and fit although I did make a couple of errors. Fortunately the pattern design on this fabric is very forgiving and you won’t notice that I made the faux wrap belt around the wrong way. The photos don’t really show the pleating detail below the bust at the front but these pleats are a lovely feature. I highly recommend this dress as I think it will suit all figure shapes. I omitted the side zip as the dress slips on easily without the need to open it up.

Material Notes

Jersey knit.

Thanks again Annie. I have been busy in my sewing room because the weather has been too miserable to get out on my bike. Last weekend was perfect here but I had other commitments, so I haven’t ridden for ages. I will be struggling up those hills again!!

Ooh Schnui…I have been remiss in catching up on Burda…lovely to see all your new creations! You have a great eye for fabric and matching them to the perfect garment – this dress is a good example!

Thanks again. I was a bit lucky with this fabric; I go to TAFE to learn millinery and every now and again the fashion dept students are given the opportunity to buy fabric that local Brisbane designers offer to the TAFE at hugely discounted prices.

Thanks Ronnielee. It is quite cold in Brisbane at the moment and I needed a warmest dress. You have got me hooked on Ponti and I have made a couple of things. Like you say, it is so easy to work with. I have noticed a lot of Ponti clothes in Sussan lately so everyone is into Ponti.

Thanks Mary. Yes, the fabric is lovely and also nicer in reality than from the photograph.
