Burda 07/2018 #119 Jersey Top with Sleeve Ties

Added Jul 12, 2018

by lisascarolina

Upstate, South C...

A raglan semi-fitted top with ‘open’ 3/4 length sleeves with ties. The sleeves and ties set this top apart from being a humble raglan tee. Super low scoop back on the original pattern was re-drawn narrowing the back and raising the neckline as I was afraid the top would fall off me as designed. Construction notes are at the blog if interested. This was also Burda’s fully illustrated Sewing Lesson and it was an enjoyable process to have step-by-step illustrations. This is one of my July #BurdaChallenge2018 projects. Love this top! https://www.lisascarolina.com/2018/07/knit-top-with-sleeve-ties-burda-072018.html

Wonderful fabric that is draping well. Very inspiring blog of yours . Tonight I am sewing one as well.

This is lovely. I really like this top but I was also a bit sceptical about the low scoop at the back. You make me realise that it’s worth doing a bit if redrafting on it!

Gorgeous top and what lovely fabric. I agree about the sleeves setting this apart. I made one as well but I used scuba. I won’t use scuba again as the ties where hard to do lol but it’s a nice top. X

I bet it is a nice top. It’s hard to decide what sort of ‘stretch’ and ‘body’ these types of tops take sometimes. I lucked out with this fabric being drapey enough, yet holding its shape well… particularly at the ties. Thank you! :)
