This is a pattern from Burda Magazin 12/2010. I made the blouse first, planning to sew the skirt later, so that I get the option to combine the blouse with several skirts or to wear it with the matching one as a dress

In my opinion the shape is a bit 80th or even 40th, isn’t it?

I modified the original sleeves because they looked ridiculous at me. In the muslin- picture you can see both sleeves: The right sleeve is my own and the left is the original one from Burda.

For the first time ever I used high quality silk! The only disadvantage is the fact that the fabric is statically charged, especially if it is winterly and the air is frosty. Any suggestions to avoid?

Over all I am pleased how the blouse turned out.

I agree with your choice of sleeve. Pretty blouse! As for the anti static spray – I’ve used it for years and it works extremely well but if you use it on silk you risk creating spots on the fabric from the spray. It’s not a problem with most other fabrics.

I am always pleased of your appreciation! Thank you so much! And you are right: my fabric is very sensitive I should be careful.

This is beautiful! You’ve done really well…like always! :) About the staticness…I know there’s some special anti-static spray that you can buy to lightly spray on garments. I’m not sure how effective it is in a total snow winter but it works wonders in the winter in Australia. Give it a go.

Thanks! :-) I don’t dare to use this anti-static spray because my fabric is some sensitive silk. Ps: I am jealous of your australian klima!

The modifications look so nice, the fabric is lovely! I’ve been told that if you hide some metal somewhere, like a safety pin, or maybe add a metal embellishment that should lessen the static. Great job immi!
