Brushstroke Cutout Dress

I love this dress, even though making the cutout neckline gave me a hard time. I cut size 38 and didn’t need to make any adjustments except for my usual 1" at the hem to make it more pencil shape. I am not sure if my fabric stretched by the time I got to the neckband part or the pattern is not accurate. I had to stitch and un-stitch a couple of times, but each time the band was too big and wasn’t sitting flat so I ended up eliminating the facing all together. I am pretty happy with the dress. The fabric is a cotton sateen from Joann Fabrics and I had it in my stash, it has just enough stretch,

It’s a very special dress! Your fabric choice is great to highlight the neckline teardrops! The shape of the dress is very refined and your alteration to the skirt made it more chic!! I made this dress too and I had the same problem with the band and I was very dissaponted because I spent so much time to sew everything with as much accuracy as possible:( I didn’ t manage to fix it as I saw the problem when the dress was finished. But except of this the pattern is super great! The next time I will peg the hem too.

Thank you Liliv :) you are so kind. You should try to fix it, just undo the neckband and do it the way I did, forget about the facing part and if you can get someone to fit the neckband on you then it will work. It’s worth taking the time to redo it.
