Dayton, Ohio, Un...

brown top made from old cotton table cloth and scraps—very cool and breezy for hot weather we are having now. McCalls pattern 5640 view C without yoke. Added scrap ribbon and lace to sleeves for embellishment.

Material Notes

made from old table cloth and leftover elastic and cotton lace ruffle. McCalls pattern 5640 view C without yoke. Added elastic and lace to neck line for more comfortable fit. Have serious old left shoulder injury that causes me a lot of aggravation, so I eliminated the yoke for comfort. Cannot stand any pressure or even light weight on left shoulder, so the elastic neckline is more comfortable.

thank you! Yes, it was a cotton fabric table cloth that did not drape well on my table, so I made a comfortable summer top from it out of a vintage McCalls top pattern. I had to deepen the arm holes for a more comfortable fit, due to the pattern was too tight under the arms. the cotton fabric is a brown maple leaf design.

A table cloth?!?! That’s a nice looking table cloth! I love the lacy trim, too :D
