I’ve been meaning to make Ute for years, and am glad I finally got around to it. This is variation B, sleeveless with bias faced armholes. The fabric was something nice and drapey from Salvo’s – perfect for the tie but a killer to cut out. It should be a lovely summer blouse when the warm weather rolls around.

Fitting changes made to size 38
- 2.5cm FBA, futzed about with the armhole to get it to fit comfortably
- made centre front panel waist and hips size 40 for more belly room (may have let out a bit more here too)
- let out back shoulder 1.3cm and did a 5mm traditional forward shoulder adjustment
- trimmed 4cm from length (and I am really tall!)
- made tie collar shorter and narrower: 78 × 15cm

Material Notes

Soft, drapey brown cotton, green shanked buttons, both from Salvo’s; knit tricot interfacing to stabilise buttonband, neck and armholes
