Brocade Dress for Easter

If I were a size 8, I’d keep this one.
This dress was something I had in mind to do for a while. My client wanted something special for Easter, so I showed her this brocade fabric from my stash. The blue lining was a bonus as it matched the blue in the dress. I love adding a contrasting or unexpected lining colors and prints to my clothing.
The fitting went very well and we decided on an invisible zipper instead of metal, so I’ll install it today to complete the dress.
This is a great dress to make. I love classic looks that stand the test of time and this one certainly will.
Details Description: Box pleated skirt; Bodice has extended shoulders; Just above knee length
Making people happy, one garment at a time!

You can still make that dress for yourself. You can size up or down any pattern that you wish. If you already ‘cut’ it out; you can add the matching ‘tissue’ or paper pattern in order to make the pattern bigger. You can use the hemming tool and just add the sizes has you need. And if you don’t have that, you can use a ruler and simply add the necessary sizing that way.

I’ve done that on many of the free burda patterns (as well as others).

Thanks for the tips. I was really referring to the fabric. I’ve had it for at least 6 years and I know I won’t find it again. I will definitely make the dress for myself though. Just need to find another fabulous fabric.
