Description

I only call this a bridal bathing suit because it’s my wedding color theme (white and limegreen!) and the hotel we’re staying in for the wedding has a really cool pool – so it’s a perfect opportunity for a bridal bathing suit photoshoot. Then when we eventually take a tropical honeymoon, this will be the perfect bathing suit to pack.

For the pattern I used this one-piece from the 07/2019 issue, and what a wonderful pattern. I cut and sewed a size 38 around the bust and waist, and blended into a size 40 for the hips. I show how I did this as well as how I sewed it together in the following tutorial posts for my July Mash Up:

Part 1
Part 2

For the shorts I’m wearing over top in some of the pictures is actually from a jumpsuit pattern! I cropped the hem to a shorts length and then cut off the top portion about 2" from the top of the casing to create a paper bag waist effect. Really love these pieces together and it works perfectly as a cover up!

Material Notes

Stretch lace and green spandex for the bathing suit, and stretch cotton sparkle (yes it has a slight sparkle woven into the fabric) for the shorts.
