Boxy Blouse and Capris

Added Jul 29, 2018

by Ellen Hatteland

Nedre Vats, Norway

I was lucky to have enough fabric for both a blouse and capris. I followed the instruction for the blouse, and it’s the first time I have made this kind of split at the front. It was a little challenge to make the rouleau loops and the underlap on the other side, and thereafter cut the slit open, but I managed!
I started with the pattern for the “Slight flare Trousers” because I wanted to have pockets with the pleat decorations at the sides. While I was sewing the trousers, I thought it would be nice finish the legs with ties instead of the flare, so therefore the capris are a combination of both pattern. I’m really happy how it turned out :)

These two pieces look fabulous together!! The ties add to the modern look of the pants. Have to say you have the best taste in choosing fabrics Ellen! :)

Beautiful relaxed pieces here! Could wear them all day everyday. Indeed it takes some nerves to cut the middle slit for the blouse – makes you read and reread the instructions 100 times just to be doubly sure …

I love both pieces but the pants are ny favorite! They will also look perfect with any plain top and I consider making them too in the 10 days left before my holidays. If only St Petersburg was closer…..

Thanks Elpida! yeah, you’re right. I probably would choose to make the capris with elastic at the waist if I should make once more :) Have a wonderful holiday!
