Box-cut top (based on Odette top pattern)

This is my version of the ‘Odette’ box-cut top.

The fabric is a heavy polyester that I rescued from old curtains at a thrift shop!!! (It would be more glamorous to keep the source for myself, but I’m happy to do – and promote – some recycling). It turns out the fabric was perfect for this design and (despite the sourcing) it looks quite refined!

The pattern and instructions were nicely presented, making the whole process a lot easier.
Thank you www.fine-motor-skills.blogspot.ca for posting this pattern at no cost – it motivates beginner seamstresses like me!

Yey! So satisfying to see others renditions of the design. I love the choice of fabric! Totally works! I must say I also perused the drapery section quite thoroughly trying to find the right fabric for this top. I’ve heard its great in knits too.

I haven’t blogged in ages but should get back into the sewing swing of things come Spring and get another pattern up.

    Take care and keep sewing!

Hey Melissa! Tks for getting in touch, I’m really pleased to know you like my version of it! Your pattern was so well designed, fine motor skills you have, indeed. I have the intention to make other odette tops, the warm season coming. Will keep you posted. Cheers!
