I made this kind of off the top of my head. It is basically an oval bottom with cardboard inside and the sides are just rectangles gathered around the base and the upper band.

Material Notes

Cotton-poli maybe, I am not sure, I did not buy it.

Caine, I cut out a piece with rounded ends, kind of oval like but more straight. Then I wrapped the cardboard twice with plastic wrap, just to be on the safe side and waterproof it a bit. I gathered the side pieces to pieces that were the same shape of the cardboard plus seam allowance. I guess I didn’t mention that it is fully lined. I sewed the cardboard into the bottom by putting it between the oval fabric pieces and stitching over the same seam that holds the side fabric to the bottom, then just flip the outside piece up and over and both sides are finished. Did that make sense?

I really like this! :-) If you don’t mind my asking, how did you do the cardboard in the bottom?

Now this is cute! I love the deep, royal blue color and the gathering/ruffles are so perfectly feminine :)
