Blouson & Skirt

Scuba is fun sewing with :) It’s not so easy to see, but the fabric is a crinkle scuba. The blouson pattern is from the last Burda Easy Fashion, and has inserted pockets at the princess seams. The skirt is from an earlier Easy Fashion with a soft rounded hem. Yellow is a great color to combine with this lovely flower fabric. I think Sara looks sweet in her new outfit ♥

When I was about Sara’s age, my aunty gave me a French Connection gathered skirt and matching waistcoat, that I (crudely) refashioned into a jacket and little mini skirt. I’d never had a suit before and I felt so grown up and sophisticated having two matching pieces to wear.

Thing is, I’d forgotten all about it until I saw this combo you’ve made, so thanks for bringing back a really lovely memory! I’ll have to remind my aunty…although I can’t quite remember what she thought of me hacking into her designer threads!!! ;)

The out fit and model couldn’t be prettier. I love the princess seams on the jacket. Much more flattering!
