Black Wool Winter Coat

Added Dec 24, 2009

I didn’t found a winter coat I liked, so I decided to sew one.

I chose the Simplicity 2508 pattern and added belt loops, as I don’t want to lose the belt all the time.

The sleeves are a little bit too short for a winter coat. Maybe I’ll add some knitted material to make it longer. But I’m really happy that I got the linnig right, because it was the first time I lined something.

And now I just realised that the coat is buttoned up the wrong way in the first picture. Maybe I will make a better picture later.

Material Notes

black wool blend/coatvelour and some kind of darkblue slippery linning material (i don’t remember the exact name, sorry)

Garment Type
Other, Wool

I love the lining, is it hard to work with the wool? I had a terrible time finding a winter coat I liked too. Even now the one I have isn’t really warm enough.

I did’nt found it hard to work with the wool. You just have to take the right needle. (which I first forgott…)

The coat is warm enough with a warm sweater. But mostly it’s not that could here.
