Description

I hoped to make something a little edgy for Matt; he loves bright colors and comments occasionally on the boring that is men’s clothing.

However.

This turned out to be some sort of strange tunic—and it’s at the back of his closet. I’ll try men’s wear again…

I’m going to make this shirt out of off white linen for Tom for his birthday on March 10. It’s good to see exactly how the collar turned out in this style. I think the shirt is just a bit too big around the neck opening. The color is lovely, and your work looks nice.

Thanks for your compliments! My husband and I zoomed by your city yesterday on our way back from five days in gorgeous Asheville, NC (heavenly.) My projects look exact due to photo-idge blurrences, is that a new term? I just made a couple of shirt dresses and I wish/need to find a tutorial for finishing the front thingy that the button is sewn onto and the other side where the holes go. Also I just find that I have so much material garbled up in the zones where the collar attaches that make me feel I am not doing something correctly.

I love this mens shirt. I am going to check it out to make something for my husband. He needs a good linen shirt but until I resolve my shirt issues it ain’t happening.

I think this shirt is very successful. Love the colour and the cut looks really cool and ‘cool.’ I think the wide collar is great- will promote some cooling into the interior of the shirt! Great for our hot and humid climate! Thanks again for your comments!

      Thank you!

You comments comfort me, but I don’t believe you. You may have some gathering up but I don’t ever see it! I don’t know of any collar tutorials but drop me the link if you find a good one. I, too, would like to retry the man’s shirt. I admit it was fun to make because it seemed so detailed and complex relative to other projects I have attempted.

Good to hear from you and happy sewing!

I think its actually quite nice. It looks a little big in the back shot, so maybe just take that in, and the collar looks a little wide, but other than that, its really nice. Great job. Its a shame he doesn’t wear it.
