Newport, Rhode I...

This was a special effort for a friend who liked the concept. I wish I could get one pattern down, but, still experimenting. Worked out a bit better with deeper darts in head & tad of a neck.
As always fun & really learned to, again, appreciate the art of doll crafters-like my idol Kathe Kruse!
Pink corduroy body-made for a baby with tab arms, inserted legs with a little bum to sit upon, a toddler tummy. Corduroy hair, embroidered mouth & eyes.
The dress was made from men’s jean bottom, appliques added-I love the crab shape! and snap straps.

Material Notes

Corduroy, demin, flannel, cotton, floss, poly-filler, snaps.

Spring, Summer
Garment Type
Corduroy, Cotton, Polyester

Nicely done, lucky little girl who gets to play with it. Did you already give it away? Many of my projects are gone, it’s nice to have them in the pictures :)

      Yes, in mail.
In late 80’s when I made 350 bears-more old style than ones in Burda studio-I only have a notebook of detailed descriptions, & “bearly” ha! recall w/o pictures!
Your monkey jumsuit so very sweet!

ADORABLE!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE your little characters. She’s beautiful. A really beautiful shape all over. You really have the knack of creating “living” things.

My favourite parts – neck area / feet / bottom.

    Really well done! xx

You would laugh if you saw me sorting thru parts drafts. I do stick with body shape, but, head & legs switch. Neck was new-added it. Removed head after thinking chin not visible. Poor Marie Antoinette move-thankful I could get it back together! Appreciate your kind words.

Thank you-the strip method began when one of my “little” helpers tried to comb yarn hair. Indestructable this way…well, so far!
