Autumn Colour Coat

Warwickshire, Un...

Coat made from Style 101, Burda 9/2010.

I made this for Daughter No1 from the most amazing fabric from Rosenberg & sons. It is quite chunck, and very heavy! The lining is a raspberry cupro. The pattern originally had a concealed button placket, but as I’d bought some fabulous green buttons, I didn’t want to hide them! This coat fits her beautifully, with no adjustments at all. Only thing I would do if I make it again is to find somewhere for pockets. A coat needs pockets!

Material Notes

wool tweed with cupro lining.

Could you post some pictures how it looks on the back, please? I have that pattern I wanted to sew a coat like that, but the pictures in the magazine don`t say much… :)

Very nice coat! And I agree with the others: good fit and great choice of fabric. I was wondering though, it seems to me that there’s no collar, is that so? (I tried to look up the technical drawing on the German Burda website, but couldn’t find it because the site had some kind of server problem)

Hi there, thanks for the comments. There is no collar on this coat. I have added a scanned image from the magazine for you.
