Description

This gown was a fabric hog (6 yards!) but it was easy to make and turned out so elegant! This was the feature designer pattern from Andrew Gn’s Fall 2017 Ready-to-Wear collection in the Burda Style February 2018 monthly magazine issue. I used a butterfly print crinkle chiffon for the font and side panels, and the same print in a rayon challis for the collar and the back/train panels. The slip underneath is made of true vintage silk crepe, sewn using a vintage year 1942 Simplicity pattern. I made my own flower hair comb for my hair, and found some local handmade tassel earrings to match. This outfit was inspired by the actress Nicole Kidman’s gown from the “Charity Ball” scene in the 2008 movie “Australia”.
