Description

This is just a simple rectangle, with a hole for the head and a slit for the neckline, made from a wax-print cotton. The pattern was taken from a 1980 book, “Creative dressing” by Kaori O’Conner. I made my own necklace as well from a polished ring of Jasper stone. To see and read more, please visit my blog page https://seamracer.wordpress.com/2016/04/21/a-poncho-top-simplicity-of-shape/

Thank you, Mary. Yes this “Creative Dressing” book is a treasure found at a used book fair. It’s got lots of classic and really neat designs with great reading, too.

Thanks! I had fun out in the garden that day…and my hair, well it gets super curly sometimes and my hairstyle made the most of a crazy hair day :) The fabric is a gift from my Grandma who’s recently handing off her stash to me!

Thank you Ellen! It is nice and cool and comfy – even better when worn without a belt.

I like it a lot! Simple but very nice. Especially in this dramatic-ish African fabric :)

Thank you, sometimes the simple pieces are the best go-to pieces for everyday wearing! Especially as it took one yard and a little over an hour to make! I’m glad to hear you think it looks African…I thought so too, but wasn’t sure if I was off.
