Amy Butler's Anna Tunic

Milwaukee, Unite...

This is one of several belted tunics I’ve made using the Amy Butler pattern. In general, I think the pattern calls for too much ease in the body of the tunic. The pattern does not provide ease information. Amy Butler patterns would be greatly improved if they included the design ease.

If I make it again, I will make the tunic a bit less billowy. This will help it more easily under suit jackets.

I’ve described this as a novice pattern, though it should be noted that the provided instructions for the back button placket are somewhat hard to follow.

Material Notes

I’ve made this version of the tunic out of simple cotton. This tunic is fully lined with the same cotton. This lined aspect of the Anna Tunic does mean that you could use substantially thinner fabric.

Thanks! I posted a photo of the back of the tunic with the button placket. I used the same fabric to line the tunic—so it’s sort of reversible…but then the buttons would be on the inside.
