A project following Fabiani’s couturier design for Vogue.

I am totally in love with Fabiani’s patterns, and I can boast a mini collection of old patterns, including this timeless semi-fitted, mock side front-buttoned closing.

The dress sits slightly below knee, has jewel neckline shaped hipline seaming, flared skirt without side seams!; back zipper closing.

I have used soft, light pink jersey. The whole bodice is stiffened with fusible interfacing of medium weight.

Worn with white italian leather and mesh shows and Debenhams collection hat.

Material Notes

soft cotton jersey

Summer, Spring
Garment Type
Classic, Vintage

oh, thank you. the lack of confidence stems in a commission i took for bridesmaids dresses. the bride changed her mind a few times about length, even design, i felt quite down because of that. i did not want to come near the sewing machine again!

i know how you feel, people always say to me i’m sitting on a goldmine?? they mean i should make clothes for people? . i don’t enjoy it though. i make for friends but it always ends up such hard work as they change the length etc. i just love sewing for me and my loved ones.i really don’t thimk non sewers realise the work that goes into a dress etc!! i can make myself something very quickly but making for others is stressfull and time consuming. i applaud you and all the other sewers who make for clients x
