The hot weather dictates light fabrics and the print of the fabric dictates simple pattern ( I should avoid any extra seams and lines) :) For me the colouristics and the print of this cambric is associated with Africa’s images so I chose the name. The pattern is from Burda magazine 11/2007 #110.

I lengthened the dress because of quite big print and loose silhouette not to break the proportions. As a line of simmetry for cutting I chose those purple circles with blue intarsia (they remind me pine-apples:)) and thus I got a long remnant stripe of fabric. I use it either as a headband or a scarf depending on the level of hotness:))

Material Notes

Cotton cambric.

Beach, Casual

Thank you, liliv-1!!! I’m so glad you like it! I bought the fabric not knowing exactly what wanted to do with it and it waited more than a year for its right pattern!

I’m very glad you like it!
I replied once but don’t see my answer here so will try again:)
As I don’t sew as much now as I used to so try to buy materials for certain projects only (although it doesn’t mean that I’m making them next day after my purchase:))) when I saw these abstract colourful circles I couldn’t help buying them. It took me more than a year to decide how to use all the advantages of the fabric and not make me look stout:)
