This one is for the hot days of summer. I wanted a very light weight loose fit top that would be perfect for hot days and found some very light weight knit for the project. The knit is actually so light weight you can see through it. So I decided to doubling the fabric on the front of the shirt and leaving it as a single layer on the back. The Drawstring Top pattern is very easy to make. One of those projects you could decide to make in half a day. The pattern calls for a woven fabric, but I found it works just fine with knit fabric too. I wore this yesterday and its very comfortable.

Material Notes

Very light weight jersey knit blend

I am SEW glad to see your version, lmb! It looks sensational in a knit. I hope you make more. This is definitely a versatile summer top.

Happy you like it. Making it out of knit was very easy. The pattern directions say to cut on the bias, but for the knit I cut on the straight grain. If you make it and post it please let me know. I would like to see.

This is a really nice top and I am so glad to see it made up, other than from the magazine.
