A late summer shorts outfit

This summer I was really into shorts. Following the sewing of this shirt for which I didn’t have enough fabric and had to buy some extra to finish it, I bought a little more and made this pair of shorts. The print is sort of like an Hawaiian motif which I thought would be fun for summer.
Both pieces were made from old Burda magazine patterns that I had already traced, cut and adjusted. They were quick makes which sometimes are so satisfying.

The shirt is from November 1998, model 127, and the shorts Feb. 2011, model 122A.

Material Notes

Shirt, Pima cotton
Shorts, quilting cotton

Thank you Maria! It always takes me too much time to decide which pattern/which fabric, but this is the sewing part I like the most : )

I totally would wear this. You made an out fit that would sell in a boutique. Its such a lovely classic, chic, style that goes every wear. Good stuff!

Beautiful outfit! I’ve never made a shirt, I think it’s very complicated and I really appreciate the work you’ve done here.It looks so well made!

Thank you Elpida, I used to think it was complicated but after sewing some you easily get into it.

Thank you Elizabeth! Using the printed fabric was a last minute decision and I wasn’t too sure…
