A gathering of flowers

As soon as I saw this pattern in the magazine, I fell in love with it. Once I had sewn it together and tried it on, I was not sure whether it was the right style for me and it was left unfinished for a couple of years. Recently I decided to give it another chance, as it was quite a lot of work to put together with all the gathering and the inset corners. More details are found on my blog

Material Notes

Mystery fabric from thrift store, probably rayon with something else mixed in.

Garment Type
Romantic, Vintage
Blends, Rayon

I’m glad you found my comments useful! Perhaps I should mention that I’m 1.75m and seem to have a relatively long torso, so without alterations the waistlines of most patterns end up a bit too high on me, although in this case it might also be a feature of the pattern itself. To be honest, I’m not sure if I would recommend this pattern, despite its interesting details and the pretty line-drawing. Nevertheless, lengthening it (and perhaps taking out some width around the bust/back) sounds like a good idea and I would love to see how your version turns out!

Pretty fabric. This blouse is interesting. I liked all the comments you made about it on your blog, as I have always wanted to make this blouse, but have procrastinated as I knew I might have to lengthen it first. And after seeing your version, I will definitely lengthen it.
