A Blue (soon to be faded) Jacket

I slightly adjusted the Safari Jacket 02/2013 #102 pattern to make this jacket.
It is made from old material that my mom used to cover the couches. We found out that the fabric fades very quickly in the sun… So the couch looks sad now, but I cant wait for this Jacket to fade a bit so that it has a worn-out faded look!

I did not put a cord in the bottom seam because i didn’t find it necessary and my short body didn’t allow it. I made the sleeves slightly shorted as well.

If I could redo this project I would’ve used proper this interfacing instead of also using the thick blue cotton as interfacing. It would’ve been much neater. I am still very proud of this one though!!! What do you think?

Material Notes

100% Cotton

Fall, Winter
Garment Type
Casual, Military, Vintage

The jacket looks great. It’s awesome how you repurposed the couch fabric.

this is a gorgeous jacket, i like how you used fabric that was on your mums sofa, quite a story. As for posting the link you have to word it excatly the way it is in the patterns. I see that you have though?? i’ve had problems like this before as well, try just putting 02/2013 in and see does it come up or even just safari jacket could show it x

I love this jacket, and think it will look cool faded, but it looks great now too. I like how you styled it as well :) Maybe i’ll try this pattern out too :D

This is based on the Safari Jacket 02/2013 #102 but when checked the square that says it is based on a Burda Pattern, it didn’t allow me to. It kept on saying i have to type the name on the pattern/project even when I did type it in….?
