50's Style Mint Green Lace and Tulle Skirt

Manchester, Unit...

I’ve made two of the mint green skirts now, one for myself and one for a customer and they are so beautiful (well, at least I think so haha). You don’t have to be an advanced sewer to make one, just a patient one. The tulle is so soft, that it can take quite a lot of time placing it correctly for the perfect cut.

The skirt is made up for four layers:
Off white lining
2 layers of white super soft tulle
1 layer of mint green lace

The white tulle is actually curtains that I buy from Ikea, it’s only £5 for the pair and you get a total of 6 metres, the cheapest I’ve found with this softness.

All of the pieces where cut into full circles (if you google full circle skirt tutorial, you’ll find loads of them), all pinned together and then added to an elasticated waist. I put a concealed elasticated waist on the second one that I made for a customer.

The project is simple in theory, but like I said, just remember to be patient as it will probably take much longer than you expect. It’s definately worth it in the end though, an ulimate head turner!
