Description

I am finally back from months of making things that turned out terribly! I am so glad the weather is warming up and I’m feeling like sewing again.

The silk scarves were large and purchased for one dollar each at an estate sale. I took a blouse and roughly traced it. I finished the edges with bands of the same fabric after a disastrous attempt with bias binding. I am really in love with this blouse!

It’s lovely and really suits you. I’ve been collecting scarves with the intention of doing something similar, but am a bit put off by the fraying aspect of it all. . . any tips?

What a wonderful idea and your top looks beautiful. Good for you and you will now have started a race to second hand sales in the hunt for beautiful silk scarves. I am sure you will have started something here. I know I am going right now to my scarf drawer to see what I can refashion into a lovely top like yours.
