1950 Dress

Philadelphia, Pe...

I made this dress using the Vogue Vintage Model pattern #1171, from 1950. I made it with vintage shantung fabrics and buttons I found at a local charity shop.

I made a few alterations to the pattern, including trimming down the collar and hemline. I think it’s really kind of cute!

You look really sweet and genuinely 50s. You probbaly had another life in teh 50s. Can I just ask, the left side of the square corner collar, does not look square, is it supposed to be like that?? O f course, I love the rest! When did you get the time to make 3 gorgeous dresses over 3 days?

Thank you so much! That’s pretty much how I dress every day. I’ve always thought maybe I had another life in the 40s or 50s. Haha. I think the collar bended during the photo shoot, but it definitely is square like the rest! I’ve been staying up late plenty of nights, for sure!

This is so absolutely adorable. Very fitting with the anchor tattoo! I anticipate you getting a lot of attention in that dress!
