    Hi Zoe

I have found out that there are Burda Sewing Clubs, could you let me know what you do? Do you meet to share patterns and ideas? Do you do lessons? Thanks for letting me know! Moka

Hi Moka, I’m afraid I have just left Barcelona. There is a Barcelona sewing group though, run by Minimontse, they are lovely creative ladies! Contact her and she can explain more. Que te vaya bien!

Hi Zoe, thanks for the comment on my Taffeta dress! Can you believe it – I haven’t worn it yet!? And I made it 2 years ago. Somehow, it just isn’t my style… I’ve been following your blog, too, and the Me-Made-May challenge. It is an amazing idea, and it’s so interesting how girls from all over the world are playing the same game! If you organize the same challenge in the future, I might join you. Oh, and I envy you for living in Barcelona! ;)

      Hi Ana!

Thanks for your message. There will definately be another challenge similar to Me-Made-May soon, you can participate and make yourself wear all your beautiful handmade clothes, including that dress! Keep an eye on my blog over the next month or so for an announcement. As you say, it is so nice connecting with people all over the world who are participating but doing it in their own unique way. Barcelona is great for sure, but actually I am moving back to UK in August, so I only have a shrt while left! I don’t want to think about it, it makes me sad as well as excited!

So, what are you sewing at the moment? How often do you wear clothes that you have made yourself?

Great, I’ll wait for the next challenge then. Hopefully, it will be during the summer – I have tones of dresses that I made and just LOVE to wear. Well, summer is definitely my favorite season, hence I am most inspired to sew summer clothes.
I wish we communicated a bit earlier – I was visiting Barcelona this April, we could have met there…
I am in some sort of inspiration puzzle. I am craving for some summer clothes, but the lousy weather really demotivates me from sewing it. On the other side, I am sick of winter/Autumn clothes, so I guess I’m stuck :). I finished yesterday a blouse that was on its way of becoming an UFO, and I should finish a lovely spring coat I started working on back in December. But, I just don’t feel like doing it… Such a lethargic girl I am these days – I blame the weather! :D

And, to answer your question – I wear me-made clothes quite often. Usually, you can see me wearing at least one self made garment

Thanks for the support of the Fabric Swap, I’ve decided today to make it weekly rather than daily to give people a chance to get involved. Check out the latest piece of fabric to see if it takes your fancy! All the best x

Hey Zozo zoe! Nice to read from you. When are you landing on our shores?Don’t have much time to sew and and I am digitally deprived of a camera, loads of stuff I started which I need to finish. Today, I went to Joel &sons Haute Couture fabric shop (appointed by HM the Queen Elizabeth II… urh urh )on Church market near Edgware Road, unaffordable but interesting remnants sometime, today for instance we have to go there when you come back. Will you live in London? xxxxH

Wow! That’s mental-spooky! I was literally thinking about Joel & Sons last night! I used to have to go there for swatches when I worked in a small clothing company and I was struggling to remember it’s name. Yeah, amazing range, but SOOO expensive. I guess they need to pay for all the staff somehow. I’m off the fabric buying at the moment, probably until I hit UK shores (in August), in fact I started a little Stash Bustin’ campaign:
I’m going to be trying Brighton out for size, but definately plan to head up to London frequently so I’m positive we will hook up before long!

Has estado en Barcelona? Yo soy de Inglaterra, cerca de Londres. Llevo uno y medio años aqui.

Yay! Good idea, Michelle and I haven’t sorted the when’s and where’s of meeting yet, but I was hoping she would be free Sunday 20th to meet up round Brick Lane somewhere, how does that sound to you? Originally I am from Essex, Southend on Sea. My folks live in a dull town called Rayleigh, but the train can wisk me away to Liverpool St in only 45mins, so it’s not all bad! Where in France are you from? How long has London been your home? xxx

Yeah I mean superflous because I haven’t had the time to get a full grip of my serger and then I buy a stich cover machine…I have a lot to catch up with obviously. I can’t work out the tension with the serger. I twicked all the button the first I had it, that was very clever! :) My space is huge actually, I spread stuff everywhere and get mixed with my books, toileteries, clothes, dishes. In that respect it is fortunate that I have no one to share my life with! XXX

hello Senorita Wahine! I have been too busy so far getting on with completing my thesis. I will soon be free to have a social life again, meet up with Michelle and get used to my serger and cover stitch machine, really superfluous but hey, I never buy new clothes. How’s your sewing routine usually like? Do you concentrate on one project at once. What have you been doing in Barcelona? XX

Good luck on the thesis! When will it be out of your hair? How can you say your serger and cover stitch machine are superfluous?! I couldn’t imagine going back to sewing without a serger. I’m dreaming of a cover-stitch too, let me know how you get on with it. Can you use it with woven fabric too, or just stretch? I just tend to work on one project at a time (although I have at least ten bubbling away in my head at the same time). My sewing space is also our lounge and computer room and dining room, so I can’t spread out too much. Do you have your own sewing room? xxx
