Thanks so much for your comment. The gathering on the bust was a correction to a mistake but it worked out well. You should give it a try, once you have the basic idea it will all work out and if it doesn’t you just change your original idea like I did :)

Hiya. Yeah, I too love to have a place for everything in my bags! I like the idea of a larger Estelle bag, if I were to make it again I would definately use alot more interfacing – as you suggested on your buttercup bag – I used mine as a work bag for a couple of weeks and it has started to lose its shape a little! Love the aprons you made btw – so cute!! =)

Congratulations on your new overlocker! And thanks for keeping me updated. It was really thoughtful of you to keep me posted. I am unfortunately still overlocker-less! :-( The economic crisis has hit us quite a bit, and I’m rather busy at the moment doing lots of other things… but still wishing I was sewing and …. I’m still dreaming of an overlocker. Thanks for the tips on the Bernina. I love my Bernina sewing machine which is ancient ( my mum gave it to me when she upgraded to a newer Bernina ‘cos I loved sewing on it so much) I’ll definitely keep it in mind when the time finally comes to buy my overlocker i.e. when our business picks up again.

Thanks for the lovely comments about my coffee date dress. I thought at first the fabric might be a bit too bold but I bought it anyway (too cheap to resist!) Thankfully it looks great on.

Hello! Thanks four your comment, i’m glad you like my creation, and thanks for your useful advice,i’ll try the jocelyn top and the other solutions. I’d prefer something sleeveless, but i want to wear a dress made by me at a wedding (31st of May) and it will be in a church. I’m not particularly religious, but i don’t want to offend anyone, and here it is at least unpolite to be in a church with bare shoulders… and i don’t want to wear too many garments. I do love your ‘pink’ silk top, you are so nice in it, your work is great :)

Loved them, reminded me of things my mum made me. You should make some more and put them on ebay or take them to a craft fair or boot-sale and see how they sell. :)

Hi! Thanks for your comment! My vinyl/pleather definitely didn’t smell like leather, haha! Thanks for giving me that advice though! I am a beginner in sewing so I am still a bit clueless about different materials. I also have no clue how I could wash this dress, with the vinyl bit. I will probably do it by hand…. Are you from Perth? If all goes well, I will probably move to Perth next year, because I might get a job at UWA. Are there a lot of fabric stores in Perth? I was also thinking of taking some sewing classes when I am in Perth. Quite exited about that!

You are so Welcome. I started to chuckle when you reminisced about your Mom’s sewing machine. We had both types of metal clunkers singer sewing machines (the big black ones) and the overlock sergers (it was snot green in color). LOL You are so right they were so big, all metal and I remember my teeth vibrating not to mention my surroundings and loud. LOL The good old days. Love it!

Hi Kaitui_Kiwi, Sorry I’m not much help to you as an overlocker is still on my wishlist. I wanted to try out the 344 before buying it, but got really busy and never got around to it, and then the economy took a dive, and I’ve had to put the whole idea of aquiring on overlocker on the backburner for a bit. Good luck with your purchase, whatever you decide. If you do get an Elna, I’d love to hear what you think of it. We’ve got an Elna service centre in my local town, so that was another reason I was leaning towards the Elna as well. By the way, I love your tunic and blouse- both lovely. Gerry
