hi debbie, i emailed fabricland and its £18 delivery but thats for 20 metres which is’nt bad. my house is coming down with fabric but i can’t help myself lol. 20 metres of ponteroma on ebay works out at £120 whereas its £98 from fabricland. I shall ask my daughter to chip in as shes more money than me lol. I did spot some fabulous fabric, i could ho mad buying if i had plenty of money. only a bingo or lottery win will help me . i have a 3 bed roomed house thats still filled with my twos stuff?? i’ve told them if its not collected i’m selling it at the car boot sale, i wnt to make the small roon into a sewing room. i’ll still keep a sewing machine in the living room though as i love just being able to sew when i feel like it and having the big t.v helps as well. let me know how you get on at the market, i’m so jealous lol x

hi debbie, i had a look on fabriclands bristols website and they have some gorgeous fabric. I’m interested in ponteroma jersey fabric as it hangs so well. Theres is only £3.99 a metre but it depends on the p&p. I get mine on ebay for £5.99 a metre but p&p free so i need to see which comes in cheaper.my nearest fabric shops in belfast, it has gorgeous fabric but gorgeous prices as well lol.I’m not into paying £20 a metre and higher.theres also a more reasonably priced one but it dos’nt have much choice. You are so lucky having fabric shops nearby. my idea of heaven would be to find a fabric market with lots of bargains lol. The latest thing i’ve been buying is vintage sewing machines. i get them fromcar boots and charity shops. i have 7 now and have my eye on a further two.I just love sewing with them. happy sewing xx

      Hi Mary,
I bought in buik from Fabricland because I think it was around £8 for delivery – I indulged in lots of cottons for summer dresses and I really NEEDED their mad flamingo fabric at only £3.49 per m, whereas it’s about £2.75 a fat quarter on ebay! I have to say the quality of their cottons is exceptional.
There is a big place quite near me that are planning on selling online so worth keeping an eye on – it’s 1st for Fabrics, Tyne & Wear. I got ponte roma there and they had about 10 to pick from – that’s why I love them so! I also got some fabulous faux leather bias binding from them and some stretch lace for knickers! They have so much great stuff at great prices.
I’ve never used a vintage machine and I’ve so much stuff in my little house I wouldn’t dare buy one! Although I got my machine for my 21st birthday so maybe it’s vintage already, haha! And I got my overlocker on ebay – from a lady who was a professional machinist and had it all set up when I went to get it – she gave me a lesson, bless her!
You’ve reminded me that I need to visit a market nearby that apparently has fabric stalls – not that I really need to add to the stash!!
