Women’s skirt sewing pattern available for download. Available in various sizes and is produced by burda style magazine

This classy skirt gives any outfit a great twist! Sew it in a bright color for a fun flirty style. This pattern also includes great step by step sewing instructions with diagrams.

This pattern is from the Club Tropicana Collection

Recommended Materials

Jersey. Use only stretch jersey or knit fabrics.

Amount of Fabrics

Note: For this style, we used a double layer of the very delicate, semi-sheer jersey. If you are working with a heavier, opaque jersey, do not cut the skirt pieces with the lower edges on the fabric fold. Instead, add a hem allowance of 4 cm (15/8 ins) to the marked fabric fold edge (= lower edge). On front skirt edges, turn allowances to wrong side, turn edges under, and stitch. Finally, fold hem allowance to inside and stitch in place with a twin needle.

width: 130 cm (51 ins)
length: 2.60 m (2 7/8 yds) for all sizes.

Elastic, 3.5 cm (1 1/2 ins) wide
size 34: 0.35 m (14 ins),
sizes 36, 38: 0.40 m (16 ins),
sizes 40, 42: 0.45 m (18 ins).

Interfacing, 90 cm (36 ins) wide: 0.20 m (1/4 yd).

Seam Allowance

This pattern doesn't include seam allowance

Can anybody who has completed this skirt help with the twisting part of this . The instructions provided by Burda make absolutely no sense. It’s so frustrating when they create wonderful patterns then can’t been bothered to write half decent instructions. Please help!

I’ve got as far as preparing to do the twist but now I’m totally stumped – just can’t figure out what they mean with their twist instructions and am about to give up – can you give me any advice?

I made this and it’s my new favorite skirt. :) I love this color so I chose a jersey the same color. I will post a pic soon. The instructions are well-written and made this a lot easier than I originally thought it would be by the twisted design. Excellent pattern! :)
