Women’s dress sewing pattern available for download. Available in various sizes and is produced by burda style magazine.

Retro glamour girls will recognize this dress as spotted on Marilyn Monroe in Gentleman Prefer Blondes. This form fitting duchesse satin dress has plenty of sex appeal with an asymmetrical halter neckline and an elegant column skirt with a belted overlay.

This pattern is from Strictly Ballroom collection.

Recommended Materials

Dress fabrics with some body.

Amount of Fabrics

Duchesse (washed),
width: 115 cm (45 ins)
length: 3.90 – 5.00 – 5.00 – 5.00 – 5.00 m (4 1/4 –
5 1/2 – 5 1/2 – 5 1/2 – 5 1/2 yds). ­

Lining,
width: 140 cm (55 ins)
length: 0.35 m (1/2 yd) for all sizes.

Vilene/Pellon G 700 and G 785. Vilene/Pellon Decovil I light for the belt.

Petersham ribbon (for waistband), 1.5 cm (5/8 in) wide: 1.00 – 1.05 – 1.05 – 1.10 – 1.15 m (1 1/8 –
1 1/4 – 1 1/4 – 1 1/4 – 1 3/8 yds).

Boning ­tape,
width: 11 mm (a generous 3/8 in)
length: 0.70 m (7/8 yd).

Boning tape,
width: 7 mm (1/4 in)
length: 0.50 – 0.50 – 0.50 – 0.55 – 0.55 m (5/8 – 5/8 – 5/8 – 3/4 – 3/4 yd).

1 in­visible zip, 40 cm (16 ins) long, and a special presser foot.

5 sew-on snap fasteners. A piece ofhook-and-loop tape.
