Hello everyone,

I’m stuck on the very last stage of this baby coat…

http://www.burdastyle.com/pattern_store/patterns/quilted-baby-coat-092013 The buttons and buttonholes!

The instructions say:

’Work buttonholes in right front. On left front, work top buttonhole for inside button. Sew buttons in place to match buttonholes, and as marked."

That’s all they say about it but 1) I don’t know what the inside is supposed to look like – is t attached to the inside/lining of the right front? 2) Should I make just two buttonholes in right front? Or all four?

I’m super confused.

This is what the front piece pattern looks like:

(There’s just one for both left and right.)

Any help much appreciated! Thanks!

Hi :) what confusing instructions! I think I know what’s going on though… On the right side of the jacket – sew 2 button holes close to the edge, one at the top and one a little way down. Then sew 2 buttons along the same level as you’ve sewn the button holes but on the other side, toward the inside of the jacket. Then on the inside of the jacket sew 1 button on the opposite side as the top, closer to the inside, button. On the left side of the jacket – sew 1 button hole on the top edge (to match up with the inside button). Then sew 2 buttons toward the inside of the jacket ( to match up with the button holes on the edge).

Let me know if your still confused. And make sure you sew all 3 button holes first, then line up all places for the 5 buttons
