Hello all!
I want to make a couple of linen suits and I have to line the skirts and pants to avoid my panties being obvious to all! I know silk is the best way to go, but it’s costly. I usually get lining that says it’s silk made out of plants. Sorry I dont know the right name of it. I’ve never used it for summer clothing, nor can I find anything on the internet about it. Do you by any chance know if it has he same qualities as genuine silk?

You might be thinking of Tencel or Lyocell which is a type of rayon made from wood pulp. It often has a very soft handle and feels like silk. Not sure how it would go as a lining.

Bemberg rayon is a good choice for linings. Might have to see what colours and weights are available in your area as shops don’t always carry a full range, just a small selection.

Rayon was initially sold as artificial silk until someone came up with the snazzier rayon name.

However, silk is silk and I would prefer it just to do it.
