or this

I don’t understand this part:

Outer edges, Pin the facing right sides together with the fronts and back. Stitch along the front hem edges, front edges, and neck edge. Trim the seam allowances. Lay facing on seam allowance and stitch to seam allowance, close to seam. Turn facing to inside, press edges. Stitch the back hem facing right sides together with the back hem edge. Turn the facing down and stitch to seam allowances, close to seam. Turn facing to inside and press edge.

The bit about “Lay facing on seam allowance and stitch to seam allowance” is understitiching, so this link should help http://www.burdastyle.com/techniques/understitching If you look up a tutorial on attaching facings it will (hopefully) show you what it means as I can’t find one on this site and it’s a bit difficult to explain it without pictures :-( Or someone else might know of a good link for you. They’re quite easy once you get the hang of them but i know the written instructions can look a bit daunting!

Hi, I do have other questions regarding the sewing of this garment I am about to tackle :)

Concerning the lining: after sewing darts, center back seam and shoulder seams, it says to “stitch the lining to the inside facing edge, above the marking”. What do I have to stitch the lining to? My understanding is to basically stitch piece 10 of the pattern to piece 5 of the pattern, from the marking to the shoulder seam. Is that correct? Should the bottoms stay open?

    Thanks for any help
