I am working on Burda 2561 (blouse) and the pattern makes sense except for step 3, where it’s talking about making a loop for the neck edge with a bias strip. I am utterly confused. If anyone has made this pattern, I could really use your help with this.

    Hi Anne,

I can’t find the blouse, but if it is what I think it is… a bias loop to close the neck with a button.. then all you need to do is get a 2.5cm bias cut strip, fold it in half and stitch it about 4mm in from the fold. Then cut one end on a diagonal (the tip of the diagonal should be where you’ve sewn the 4mm) so you can pull it through easier and pull it through.

You can buy a special long metal rod with a hook to pull it through.

Dont trim the seam allowance – it helps to bulk it out

    Hope this answers your question

    Hi Anne,

I can’t find the blouse pattern, but they may be talking about a loop to put round a button to keep the neck together.

Just cut a bias strip 2cm wide, press the sides to the centre, then fold it in half and press again. Stitch the edges together.

You can then sew it into the garment (usually the top back neck)

Hope this is the info your after

Oh, it’s for a button. Duh! It makes so much sense now. Thank you very much for your help!
